Organized between July and September at different venues in Kerala, boat festivals are among the most iconic symbols of the state. Pooram festival at Thrissur showcases the devotion of the people with extreme fervour. Celebrated at Vadakkunnathan Temple, the event goes on for thirty-six hours with puja and the spectacle of fireworks. When the elephants move on the streets of Thrissur with all their regal attires, you would just be in awe of the majestic cavalcade, and the sounds of drums add more joy to the procession.
